The Summer of Pierre rolls on!
While other GMs are out there golfing or doing meaningless media appearances, Pierre Dorion is locking up entire ECHL affiliates. Does the guy ever sleep?!
Okay that may be a slight exaggeration and this may be more the handy work of new Assistant GM Ryan Bowness but if we’re going to keep this “consecutive days with a new post” streak going (it’s at two, by the way), we can’t let news like this pass without proper recognition.
Today, the Ottawa Senators, in partnership with the Belleville Senators, announced that the have reached an affiliation agreement with the Allen Americans of the ECHL. It’s a one year agreement.
Allen is a city located near Dallas, Texas and has a population of 104,627 people and umm that’s about all I know about Allen, Texas. The Allen Americans spent last season as the ECHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The Seattle Kraken are apparently an NHL franchise.
Here’s Pierre Dorion and Ryan Bowness on today’s news.
“The Americans’ franchise carries a rich tradition of success. We’re looking forward to contributing to it in a positive manner when we begin placing prospects in Allen in 2022-23.” – Pierre Dorion
“Chad Costello and his staff’s tutelage will help our prospects prepare for the next level. Player development is one of our most important priorities. We’re confident that placing prospects in Allen will be an asset to progression.” -Ryan Bowness
