With each passing day, we continue to get these regular reminders of the scale of this global pandemic.
Whether it’s the broad economic consequences, the overwhelming human toll felt across the globe or even just the local challenges our communities are facing, there is no doubt that this is something that has an impact on all of us.
And as Sens fans, we continue to see the realities of just how widespread this virus really is.
This afternoon, the Ottawa Senators announced that an additional four members of the organization tested positive for COVID-19.
Here is the news release sent out by the team earlier today…
Four additional members of the Ottawa Senators organization who traveled to California before the NHL season pause tested positive for COVID-19.
Members of the team and staff self-isolated on Friday, March 13, and are all doing well. All test results have now been received, and all those who tested positive have recovered.
The Ottawa Senators’ medical team continues to monitor players and staff and are following all appropriate and professional guidelines to help ensure the health and safety of our employees and the greater community.
Obviously there’s good news in there as the team is saying that all the individuals that have tested positive have recovered.
While the NHL and NHLPA continue to cling to the hope that they’ll be able to come back sometime in the next couple months, that really seems less likely with each passing day.
