On the heels of another loss, the Ottawa Senators continue to tinker with their roster.
This afternoon, the team placed veteran forward Artem Anisimov on waivers. Anisimov has appeared in four games with the Senators this season, putting up just a single assist.
In the last year of his deal, Anismov is slated to earn $3 million in salary, which includes $1.5 million in signing bonuses. His cap hit comes in at $4.55 mil a season.
Safe to assume that nobody is going to be claiming Anisimov in the next 24 hours. Once he clears, you would think he’ll be assigned to the team’s taxi squad, which in turn opens up a spot on the roster for Logan Brown.
Or uhh Matthew Peca.
Peca is only being added to the taxi squad of course. Meanwhile Dorion suggested on TSN1200 that the idea is to give Logan Brown a chance to play some games at the AHL level.
