There is nothing quite like the annual team golf tournament to serve as a completely unnecessary reminder that hockey is almost here.
We’ve spent the better part of the last five months longing for the return of our dear Ottawa Senators but now there are real signs that we won’t have to wait much longer.
Golf Tournament today. Medicals and fitness testing tomorrow. On-ice session on Thursday. Preseason opener in just five days from now.
The Ottawa Senators are extremely and entirely and totally back.
And as the player’s gathered at Loch March Golf and Country Club in beautiful Kanata, Ontario, we also learned the names of the 56 players that will participate in Training Camp later this week.
The list includes unsigned RFA forward Egor Sokolov. It does not include unsigned RFA forward Shane Pinto.
Six goalies. 18 defenceman. 31 forwards. The plan is to have roster divided into two groups for the first three days of training camp ahead of Saturday’s pre-season opener against Toronto.
