Just hours after a preseason loss at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens, the Senators did the expected.
On Sunday morning, the team’s coaches and management made some of the tough decisions ahead of a new season.
A total of 13 players were sent to Belleville, to waivers or back to Junior. After the cuts, the Senators are left with just 26 players in Camp including 15 forwards, eight defenceman and three goalies.
No big surprises in this morning’s cuts but it did include some guys- like Egor Sokolov, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Lassi Thomson and Ridly Greig- that are knocking on the door of the NHL roster. The first three all have a good chance at seeing action with the Senators as early as this season.
The Senators have a full day off today before returning to the ice to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night.
