With the offence drying up, the Ottawa Senators have clearly entered “gotta try something” territory.

That’ll do, I suppose.
The 35-year old forward hasn’t played this season but the Belleville Senators are going to give him a shot. Gagner appeared in 28 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season and was actually fairly productive, putting up 10 points along the way.
While this is a PTO with the AHL team, neither the Senators or Sam Gagner even consider a move like this unless they think an NHL return is a possibility. Should be interesting to see how this unfolds in the next few weeks.
Gagner is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Belleville Sens host the Hershey Bears.
