Training camp is just about a month away and players are starting to arrive here in Ottawa to get ready for the upcoming season.
Today, star defenceman Erik Karlsson was in town and took time to speak to the media about the off season and what we can expect in the upcoming year.
It’s a great interview in which he discussed possibly being named the next captain, trying to get back to 100%, what he thought of the Jason Spezza deal, whether or not he’s worried about how players feel about playing in Ottawa and what it’s like playing in a Canadian market. Some refreshing honesty from Karlsson on a wide range of topics and a pretty optimistic outlook on the coming season.

Some other bits of Sens news to pass along today in what was an oddly busy day in August;
-Mark Borowiecki was signed to a three year contract extension.
-Eugene Melnyk is scheduled for a press conference tomorrow which will include representatives from all three levels of Government in what is being described as a “significant community announcement.”
-TSN announced some details of their coverage for the upcoming season including word that Gord Miller and Chris Cuthbert will handle the play by play duties on their regional broadcasts.
