With Camp now just a week away, the Ottawa Senators are adding a little veteran presence to the Training Camp roster.
Josh Bailey, who was linked to the Sens during the Free Agency Period, has signed a professional tryout contract.
The now 33-year old Bailey appeared in 64 games with the New York Islanders last season, scoring 8 goals and 25 points. He has 1057 games of NHL experience under his belt, all with the Islanders. Jack Capuano coached him on the Island and DJ Smith had him in Windsor.
The Islanders traded Bailey to Chicago this past summer, who then bought out the final year of his 6 year/$30,000,000 contract.
Bailey has appeared in 71 playoff games in his career and has an impressive 50 points.
He’ll be in a battle to crack the Ottawa lineup but a little extra competition in Camp is never a bad idea.
