Game Day- Tkachuk Brothers Battle Again in Ottawa

It has been so long.

A quick refresh- the Ottawa Senators are a professional ice hockey franchise, currently operating in the National Hockey League. Founded and established by Bruce Firestone, the Senators played their inaugural season in the 1992-1993 season. Since then, the Senators have made sixteen playoff appearances, won four division titles, and won the 2003 President’s Trophy. They made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in the 2007 season and came dangerously close to doing it again ten years later.

And while they currently sit at the bottom of something called the “North Division”, most experts agree that Ottawa is indeed, rising.

The Ottawa Senators return from a four-day break to host Matthew Tkachuk and the Calgary Flames.

Based on what we saw from the Senators at yesterday’s practice, it looks like there will be one change on the blueline.

Erik Gudbranson, who has often drawn the ire of fans during this up and down season, seems destined for a turn in the press box. Based on yesterday’s alignment, it appears as though the organization finally heard the desperate calls to give Brown a chance- Josh Brown draws in on the back end.

No changes expected up front.

Game day skate set for 10:30 AM but here’s how DJ Smith had his team lined up at yesterday’s practice.

Tkachuk-Tierney-C. Brown
Stützle-Norris-Batherson
Paul-White-Dadonov
Dzingel-Bishop-Watson

Chabot-Zaitsev
Reilly-Zub
Wolanin-J. Brown

Anton Forsberg seemed as though he was the likely starter but it’s Filip Gustavsson in the starter’s net at the morning skate.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM on the button. The game is available on TSN5, RDS2, TSN1200 on all across the information super-highway.

Here’s a closer look at this evening’s match-up.
