That last one was pretty big. But this one, this is it. Seriously, I mean it this time…
THIS is the biggest game of the year!
The Ottawa Senators once again try to extend their season in a Game 5 showdown with the Montreal Canadiens. The Sens were able to stave off elimination on home ice on Wednesday night but winning at the Bell Centre is an entirely different challenge. A challenge that the league’s most resilient team is most certainly up for.
We talked about it after Game 4 but right now, all the pressure is on the Montreal Canadiens. They were the favourite heading into this series and after getting all the puck luck in the first three games of the series, they are in complete control. But it takes four games to win a series. And as the ol saying goes, the fourth one is always the hardest to get. Ottawa was able to extend this series on Wednesday and now have a chance to do it again in Montreal.
If the Canadiens can’t close it out tonight on home ice, you know the walls will start to close in on them a little bit. That city and that organization is as fragile as they come and another season-saving win from the Ottawa Senators would certainly have some of those “great fans” contemplating a car-flip or two.
Win tonight and you keep your season alive. Win tonight and we got a series on our hands.
Here’s how Dave Cameron has his team lined up at the morning skate. No sign of Erik Karlsson and Methot is actually paired with Wiercioch while Ceci is skating with BSens call up Chris Wideman. Wait and see what Cameron says, I suppose.

Craig Anderson will make another start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM. Oh and apparently Daniel Alfredsson will be in the building tonight, presumably to take his place on that fifth line.
I’m not ready for the ride to end just yet. Let’s keep this thing goin’.
GO SENS GO!
