Game Day- Series Shifts to Boston for Game 3

During the second intermission of Saturday’s game, it felt like the season might be slipping away for the Ottawa Senators.

But thanks to a furious third period rally and an overtime rocket by Dion Phaneuf, the Sens now head to Boston with a series split. They’ll look to build on a dramatic comeback victory and take control of this series when they visit the TD Garden in Boston.

We’re only two games into this series but it’s already been full of twist and turns. In Game 1, the Senators played a picture perfect forty minutes but lost the game after an ugly third period. Game 2 seemed to follow the opposite script as the Bruins carried the play through the first two periods, only to watch the Senators take over the game in the third and in overtime.

Playing a full sixty minutes has eluded the Senators through the first couple games and will be their focus heading into their first road game of these playoffs.

We’ll find out more later this morning but it sounds like Boucher is considering a couple line up changes ahead of this one.

Mark Borowiecki left Saturday’s game with what looked like a potentially season-ending lower body injury but his status is apparently day to day.  Guess we shouldn’t really be surprised when it comes to Boro.  If he’s unable to go, either Freddy Claesson or Ben Harpur would draw in and it sounds like Boucher is leaning towards Harpur.

Up front, Boucher will again have a decision to make.  Tommy Wingels and Chris Kelly were the odd men out last game while Dzingel and Stalberg both played.  Stalberg seems like he’s still nursing some sort of upper body injury so we’ll see if Boucher decides to make a change there.

Here’s how Boucher lined ’em up at the morning skate.

Hoffman-Smith-Stone
Stalberg-Brassard-Ryan
Dzingel-Turris-Burrows
MacArthur-Pageau-Pyatt

Methot-Karlsson
Phaneuf-Ceci
Harpur-Wideman

Craig Anderson is expected to get the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM.
