According to sources I’ve spoken to about last night’s game, it uhh sucked.
The Ottawa Senators got off to a less than ideal start. Actually, it may have been the worst period of hockey they have played all season. One of the hallmarks of this DJ Smith coached team is they always come ready to play. Last night, not so much.
As the Senators have found out on a couple of occasions this season, they just aren’t good enough to take periods off. That’s what happened against the Canucks and the result was an embarrassing twenty minutes of hockey.
The good news is many fans tuned out after a period so we should all be well-rested for tonight’s game in Edmonton.
The Edmonton McDraisaitls are off to an impressive start this season. They lead the Pacific Division with a 17-9-3 record which is a testament to their depth and strong team play. Ha.
No game day skate for the Senators today but it’s safe to assume DJ will shuffle the deck a little bit. Filip Chlapik was returned to Belleville earlier this afternoon so he’s out. A guess for now.
