Game Day- Senators Visit Jets on Saturday Night

25 games left.

25 more times the Ottawa Senators will suit up for a meaningless hockey game and 25 more times I will struggle to come up with something worthwhile to say on this damn website.

See, tonight’s game is noteworthy because there is very real chance the General Managers of these two teams are discussing a blockbuster trade involving one of our best players.

For the second time in five months, Pierre Dorion is considering a move involving a face of the franchise. And while there is no doubt his preference would be to sign the team’s best forward, the clock is ticking.  With the deadline less than two weeks away, he has to listen to offers on Mark Stone and it seems like the Winnipeg Jets are at the front of the pack.

Fun right?!

The Ottawa Senators visit the Winnipeg Jets tonight.

Winnipeg’s line up includes Jack Roslovic, Brendan Lemieux, Mason Appleton and the recently recalled Sami Niku.

Meanwhile on Ottawa’s side of things, Guy Boucher is giving the deck a good ol’ shuffle and thinking outside the box a little bit.

He’s going to use 12 forwards and 6 defenceman. Odd but it’s worth a shot. Darren Archibald draws in while Cody Goloubef sits. It’s entirely okay if you’ve never heard of either of these people.

A best guess at the line up for now.

Dzingel-Duchene-Ryan
Tkachuk-White-Stone
Smith-Pageau-Paajarvi
Archibald-Tierney-Balcers

Chabot-DeMelo
Lajoie-Ceci
Harpur-Jaros

Anders Nilsson gets the start in goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM.

The game is available on Sportsnet 360 (?), Sportsnet One (Eh?) and TVA (never heard of it).  Streams will be available unless Pierre Dorion trades them before game time.

Cursed table.
