It’s March 11th and there is an undeniable something in the air around the city the last week or so.
It’s too hot for a winter coat. The car starts on the first try. Temperatures are rising, the snow is melting and that horrible smell has been unleashed from underneath. Yes, spring is just around the corner in the Nation’s Capital and in a delightful twist, the Sens are still playing meaningful hockey games.
The Ottawa Senators look to build on a couple emotional wins on home ice as they hit the road to visit the Philadelphia Flyers.
No Game Day skate but expect the Senators to roll with a similar lineup as last night in Detroit. A change on the blueline is a possibility though with a couple extra bodies waiting in the wings. Both Dennis Gilbert and Travis Hamonic are available.
A guess for now…
Tkachuk-Stützle-Giroux

Anton Forberg is the likely starter. Although in an interesting twist, the team announced this afternoon that Leevi Merilainen has been recalled from Belleville. We shall see.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM in Philadelphia. The game is available on TSN5 and on the radio at TSN1200. Streaming options have a way of showing up in the comment section a little closer to game time.
Really would like to tell you how these two teams match up but I’m afraid yer on yer own.
Go. Sens. Go.
