Game Day – Senators Visit Canadiens on Saturday Night

The great thing about Home Openers is the Ottawa Senators always win them.

The unfortunate thing about Home Openers is because the Ottawa Senators always win them, they are always way too much fun and most often are accompanied by a soul-crushing hangover that makes even the most basic tasks impossible. Totally worth it though. And anyone that was in the rink on Thursday, or in Bert’s Bar afterwards or at the Glebe Central Pub until the wee hours of the night, would totally agree. Everything about that night was the best. But the show must go on.

The Ottawa Senators hit the road as they visit the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.

If the preseason is any indication, it won’t take much for things to heat up between these two teams. There is a pretty clear hatred building between the Senators and Canadiens and with two points on the line and the building packed on a Saturday night, you can expect the intensity to hit another level tonight.

The Senators will have a slightly different look tonight as Zack MacEwen draws in for Adam Gaudette. That means some shuffling among the forward ranks to make room.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM at the Bell Centre. Don’t be surprised if things get started a little bit late though as the Canadiens are expected to hold a lengthy pregame ceremony and jersey retirement for Sam Montembeault following his shutout the other night.

The game is on Sportsnet East, CityTV (following Dharama & Greg) and on the radio at TSN1200. Bort will be serving up steaming hot streams a little bit closer to game time.

Wondering how these teams match-up and also have been longing for the return of an expertly crafted table featuring a spectacular array of both columns and rows and a picture of the Habs logo on a toilet seat? Well then do I have a HEAD2HEAD table for you.
