Game Day – Senators Visit Bruins on Saturday Night

It doesn’t feel like it after the last couple games but this is exactly who we thought the Ottawa Senators would be this season.

Maybe one more win. Maybe one less loss. But at least as of this morning, in the mix. They haven’t been spectacular obviously and the last two losses were particularly frustrating but if you look at the first month of the season, there has been more good than bad. There are definitely signs in there that they can be a good team but like 75% of the National Hockey League, their biggest issue right now is consistency. The real measure of improvement for this year’s team will be their ability to snap a losing streak before it gets out of hand. End the slide before it ends their season. A tad dramatic perhaps but this ain’t my first November.

And that’s why, I am declaring tonight’s game against a Division rival on a Saturday night….THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR! LE PLUS GRAND JEU DE L’ANNEE!

Too early, ya say? How dare you?

Sens vs. Bruins at the TD Garden in Boston.

No Game Day skate for the Senators this morning so we’ll have to wait until later today to find out if there are any changes to the lineup. Travis Green suggested that Shane Pinto might be available for this one which would obviously be a huge boost for the Senators. We’ll assume not for now and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

There has been also been a wee bit of angst over the Travis Hamonic or Jacob Bernard Docker decision so we’ll see if Green makes a change there. For the sake of our collective well-being, I am gonna put JBD in there without any real indication that’s the way Travis Green is leaning. You’re welcome.

Surely Linus Ullmark will be the starter.

Puck will drop at 7:08 PM. CityTV has the broadcast which will air after a marathon of Mad About You. TSN1200 has the radio call after a marathon of obscure American radio programming. Bort has the streams after a marathon of whatever the hell Bort does with his free time.
