We did it.
Ten days without the Ottawa Senators. On the front-end of this long break, it seemed impossible. The challenge was a daunting one. More than 240 hours without Sens hockey. And in the dead of winter. And in the city of Ottawa.
Yet here we are. Still standing. Just barely.
The Ottawa Senators make their long-awaited return when they host Connor McDavid, Cody Ceci and the rest of the Edmonton Oilers.
We’re back.
Obviously no morning skate for the Senators because the game itself is pretty much a morning skate. Based on what we saw at practice the other day, Austion Watson is the odd guy out up front.
The blueline is a little less clear though, as both Nikita Zaitsev and Erik Brannstrom have taken turns as the extra.
DJ Smith will meet with the media at exactly 10:10 AM so we’ll confirm any last minute changes then. A best guess at the lineup for now.
Tkachuk-Stützle-Joseph
DeBrincat-Greig-Giroux
Brassard-Pinto-Batherson
Motte-Gambrell-Kelly
Chabot-Zub
Sanderson-Hamonic
Holden-Brannstrom
Anton Forsberg gets the start for the good guys.
Puck drop is scheduled for 12:38 PM at the Canadian Tire Centre in scenic Kanata, Ontario. They’re expecting a full barn for this one which means traffic and lines could be an issue. With that in mind, you may wanna leave uh…now. The game is TSN5, which is a nice little Saturday surprise. TSN1200 has the radio call and well-rested Bort is serving up illegal internet streams to the masses.
Here’s a closer look at this afternoon’s match-up. Sorry, how many points does Connor McDavid have???
Also, more votes please
