Game Day- Senators Return Home to Host Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs.

The ____________ (noun) of the NHL’s North Division.

A team that can only be described as __________ (adjective). For the last 53 years, they have filled their fans with a general sense of _________ (noun). And even this year, with their team sitting comfortably atop the Division, Leaf fans know the __________ (noun) is coming.

They are led by Auston Matthews. An American-born forward known for his _______ (adjective) approach on the ice and his _________ (adjective) demeanour off of it. Mitch Marner, a very _______ (adjective) hockey player, leads the team in points but is known to his opponents as pretty ______ (adjective) when you really think about it.

And then there’s Leaf fans. They are so incredibly ___________ (adjective) and _________ (adjective) and downright ___________ (adjective) that the very sight of them makes me want to ___________ (verb).

The Ottawa Senators host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night.

I’ve got a _________ (adjective) feeling about this one.

Morning skate set for 10:30 AM at the Canadian Tire Centre. We’ll find out what the Senators have in mind for a lineup then. Clarke Bishop was reassigned to the taxi squad yesterday so we’ll see who draws in.

Here’s some combinations you can be mad about until then.

Tkachuk-Norris-C Brown
Paul-Tierney-Dadonov
Stützle-Peca-Batherson
Dzingel-Bishop-Watson

Chabot-Zaitsev
Reilly-Zub
Wolanin/Brannstrom-Gudbranson

Matt Murray is the likely starter but again, we’ll have to wait until closer to game time to know for sure.

Sens are reving up the red for this one as they thrown on their reverse retro jerseys. Oh and there will be some fans in the stands for this one.

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM. The game is available on Sportsnet which makes tonight the perfect opportunity to sync up the TSN1200 feed with the TV on mute. Alternatively, you can stream the game on mute and sync it up with your favourite episode of The SensChirp Podcast. Remember The SensChirp Podcast?!

Here’s a closer look at tonight’s match-up. I think everyone agrees this one is going to come down to shots for and uhh shots for.
