As far as weird two-game road trips go, that weekend swing through Dallas and Nashville turned out pretty okay for the Ottawa Senators.
Considering how they looked against the Los Angeles Kings last week, there was reason to worry how the might fare against two good Western Conference teams. But they turned in a couple solid performances, including a real team effort in that win over the Nashville Predators. Three of a possible four points and some good vibes heading back to the CTC.
They’ll look to keep that rolling when they host the Anaheim Ducks, the team that stole the Stanley Cup from me more than 15 years ago. I did try to steal it back that one night at Grace O’Malley’s but was thwarted by a quick-thinking bouncer.
Annnnnyway, Ducks and Senators later tonight.
Could be some changes to the Ottawa lineup ahead of this one.
Cam Talbot is a bit under the weather according to the Head Coach, which means he may back up Anton Forsberg. Meanwhile Alex DeBrincat missed the morning skate and is considered a game-time decision. Rourke Chartier, a hockey playing human, was recalled from Belleville and is an option.
Let’s assume same lineup for now.
Tkachuk-Stützle-Giroux
DeBrincat-Pinto-Batherson
Motte-Gambrell-Kelly
Brassard-Kastelic-Watson
Chabot-Zaitsev
Sanderson-Hamonic
Brannstrom-Holden
We’ll find out a starting goalie closer to game time. Damian Rhodes is ready and waiting though.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:38 PM. The game is available on TSN5, RDS and on TSN 1200. If illegal streaming is more your speed, keep an eye on the comment section below where you’ll surely find some usable links served up by friendly internet pirates.
Or, OR….head down to the CTC and watch your Ottawa Senators in real life. Wade Redden is joining the Ring of Honour tonight!
Here’s some serious Wade Redden-related content to help pass the time until puck drop.
