Despite giving up the first goal again last night, the Senators battled back for a well-deserved win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
It was their third straight win, pulling them even with the Tampa Bay Lightning for second in the Atlanta Division. They’ll look to stretch that win streak to four when they visit the high-flying New York Rangers.
Goes without saying but the Senators will have to be at their defensive best against the league’s highest scoring team. The Rangers have skill throughout the line up and despite an injury to Mika Zibanejad, still have plenty of firepower.
That includes the born again Matt Puempel, who is finally free to play HIS game, whatever the hell that means.
On Ottawa’s side of things, the focus will be on finding a way to score the first goal. Back to backs are tough enough but it’s worse when you spend the whole night chasing the game.
Max McCormick was been recalled again and is expected to play. Boucher said a couple guys a hurt so we won’t know the line up until closer to game time.
