Game 82. End of the line for the Ottawa Senators.
When it’s all said an done, the Sens will finish either 25th or 26th overall. A fifth straight year on the outside looking in at playoff time and not particularly close. Thirty points back, basically.
And yet it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this franchise has never been in a better a spot. Sure there was some pain along the way but looking at the current collection of young talent, the prospects knocking on the door and the picks in hand…it was all worth it. There’s still work to do obviously but it’s clear that there are better days ahead for this hockey team. And soon. Well in five months anyway.
The Ottawa Senators wrap up the 2021/2022 regular season with a stop in Philadelphia to take on the Flyers.
One change to the Ottawa lineup expected as 22-year Viktor Lodin makes his NHL debut. Selected in the 4th round of the 2019 draft, Lodin has been turning heads in Belleville over the last few weeks. He has five goals in just nine games down there and has obviously caught the eye of Sens management.
No morning skate for the Senators today so a best guess at how they’ll arrange themselves when the puck drops in Philly.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM in the City of Lovely Brothers. The game is available on TSN5 if you’d like to watch it with your eyes, on TSN1200 if you’d like to hear it with your ears and on illegal internet streams, if you’re the adventurous type.
And now, for the last time, the HEAD2HEAD table.
