With only a couple months left in the season, things are starting to heat up for the Senators.
While some teams are settling in for a meaningless stretch drive filled with pointless hockey games and struggling with the reality of having nothing to play for, our Senators are preparing themselves for a dramatic sprint to the finish.
Every game is important and every two points crucial.
The stakes could not be higher for the Senators and there is an undeniable excitement in the air each time another game day rolls around. Even with puck drop a good seven hours away, anticipation is already building.
Yes, indeed- there is nothing quite like a meaningful hockey game to get the ol’ adreneline pumping.
IT’S GAME DAY! WOOOO!
The Belleville Senators continue their push for the North Division crown as they visit the Toronto Marlies.
Oh. Hang on. I’m being told the Ottawa Senators also have a game scheduled for this evening. Suppose we should talk about that first.
The 28th-place Ottawa Senators are playing host to the 27th-place Anaheim Ducks in a game of ice hockey.
In most instances, the winner of an ice hockey match is ultimately determined by which squad ends up with more goals at the completion of three 20 minutes periods. However in this instance, the real winner will be the team that successfully tricks their opponent into scoring more goals. Should be interesting.
If that doesn’t do it for you, the division-leading AHL Senators are also in action tonight, visiting the Toronto Marlies. The BSens hold a four-point lead in the North Division and have reeled off four straight victories. The high-flying BSens lead the AHL in goals thanks to a handful of exciting young prospects capable of dominating the game offensively.
