There was a ton of hype leading up to this weekend back to back and the front half in Ottawa certainly delivered.
The game had a playoff type atmosphere from the get-go, with both teams play a fast, entertaining style of hockey. The Senators were a little bit looser than usual defensively though and in the end, the Canadiens came away with the extra point in the shootout.
Ottawa will be looking to bounce back as the scene shifts to the Bell Center in Montreal.
While it would have been nice to come away with two points last night, that late game-tying goal in the third period was obviously a big one for the Senators. They still sit just two points back of the Canadiens for top spot in the Atlantic and with a game in hand.
Guy Boucher met with the media earlier this afternoon and explained that he’ll go with the same line up and combinations. That meas Freddy Claesson is the odd man out on the blueline while Chris DiDomenico sits up front.
Here’s how the Senators are expected to start this one.
Smith-Turris-Ryan
Dzingel-Brassard-Burrows
Hoffman-Pageau-Pyatt
Stalberg-Kelly-Wingels
Methot-Karlsson
Phaneuf-Ceci
Borowiecki-Wideman
Craig Anderson makes another start in the Ottawa goal. Montreal will counter with Carey Price.
Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM.
