If that loss against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night wasn’t rock bottom, I’m not sure I wanna know what is.
Especially with the Toronto Maple Leafs rolling into town on a Saturday night.
These are strange times for Sens fans. The dreaded T word is already creeping into the conversation and with 30 games to go. The playoffs feel like a pipe dream at this point and the focus has already shifted to the Draft in June.
With a six point gap between the Senators and the final playoff spot, this season is done. Over. Playoff just ain’t gonna happen. No chance. Zero. Not gonna happen. No way. Never. Impossible. Maybe if we had some sort of inspiration to draw on but nope. These 30 games are just a waste of our time, really.
Heck, I’m so confident I even bet a substantial sum of money on the Ottawa Senators to miss the playoffs. Money in the bank, really.
Late yesterday, the Senators announced that Max McCormick had been returned to the BSens. With Dave Dziurzynski already ruled out, Management decided to go down to Binghamton to get a first hand look at some of the options available. And they returned with Ryan Dzingel and Nick Paul in tow.
And it looks like both will draw into the line up tonight. For Nick Paul, it will be his first game in the National Hockey League. He hasn’t had a great year in Binghamton but nobody has really. He’s played a little bit better of late and should get a little boost from this call up. Interested to see how he looks.
Here’s how Cameron had his team lined up at the morning skate.

Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM.
