Sunday. SUNDAY. SUNDAY!
Usually Sundays are reserved for things like football, punishing hangovers or dread over the work week ahead. But this Sunday is different. This Sunday has all those things AND Sens hockey.
The Ottawa Senators continue their three game road trip with a quick stop in Las Vegas. They’ll close out this Western Conference swing in Arizona on Tuesday night.
The Vegas Golden Knights appear set on proving the experts wrong again this year.
Last season, they shocked the hockey world by making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. This season, with their bandwagon full and hideous Vegas merchandise on the heads and torsos of confused hockey fans across North America, it appears the Golden Knights suck.
Okay, that might be a tad premature, but they have sputtered a little bit so far. Their 4-5-1 record has them sitting 7th in the Pacific Division and basically eliminated from playoff contention. Right, right. 10 games in.
Meanwhile the Senators continue to deal with more than their fair share of injuries.
Zack Smith was injured in Friday’s game against Colorado and is expected to be out for as long as a month. Jack Rodewald, who has 7 points in 8 games this year, has been recalled as insurance. Although listening to Boucher yesterday, it sounds like their preference is to go with seven defenceman tonight.
Christian Wolanin is on the road trip and is available. Mark Borowiecki is back from his one game suspension. Ben Harpur was sent home yesterday and has been placed on injured reserve.
No game day skate but Guy Boucher will meet with the media at 2:00 PM today to confirm his line up. A best guess for now.

The game is available on TSN5, on the radio at TSN1200 and definitely NOT available for streaming because that’s illegal.
And now, the highlight of your Sunday. Often imitated but never duplicated. The Head2Head table.
