Game Day- Senators in Detroit to Visit Red Wings

Motor City. MoTown. The other D. The other Hockeytown. The Paris of the Midwest.

DJ Smith leads his plucky group of Senators into Detroit tonight for an epic battle of teams low in the standings.

This game is probably more important to the tankers than to the rest of the world. Friend of the tank Jonathan Bernier will be in goal for the Red Wings.

Smith will have yet another new face in the lineup tonight as Max Veronneau will be the 7th Belleville Senator to get an NHL look. Bobby Ryan will sit this one out on what the coach calls “illness”.

In a less expected move that will also keep the tankers tanking away, Erik Brannstrom is nursing a minor thumb injury and will be replaced in the lineup by Cody Goloubef. No word on whether Brannstrom injured his thumb trying to hitch-hike the hell out of Detroit.

No other lineup changes and no game day skate. So here’s the best guess at the lineup for tonight:

Paul-Pageau-C. Brown
Tkachuk-L. Brown-Duclair
Namestnikov-White-Ennis
Chlapik-Tierney-Veronneau

Chabot-Zaitsev
Borowiecki-DeMelo
Hainsey-Goloubef

Anders Nilsson gets the start in goal.

Puck drop is shortly after 7:30 PM. The game is available on TSN5 and various other disreputable online sources (or so I am told).

EDITOR’S NOTE- How about a round of applause for Red5StandingBy for basically saving Game Day and SensChirp as we know it?!

It’s that kind of hustle that’s going to get us through this season.

Now it’s SensChirp’s time to shine. If you notice any mistakes, please feel free to pretend they aren’t there OR contact my new President of Game Day Operations (Red5StandingBy).

IT’S TABLE TIME!
