Game Day – Senators Host Leafs in Preseason Action

The important thing about the preseason is to not get ahead of yourself. You want to avoid jumping to conclusions about players and about the team in general and you need to keep your expectations in check.

Unless of course, the team’s most recent first round pick dangles $60 million dollars worth of floating Maple Leaves on the way to an overtime winner. Then you mock the other team relentlessly, bet on Carter Yakemchuk to win the Calder and Norris Trophies and clear your schedule for the month of June 2025 because we’ll have Sens hockey to watch.

Deep breaths, SensChirp. The Ottawa Senators continue their preseason tonight at the Canadian Tire Centre against the Leafs.

The Senators will have an almost entirely different look compared to Sunday night in Toronto. Tonight’s top six forwards are all lineup locks and the second line of Perron-Greig-Cousins has the potential to be the most obnoxious line combination in the history of the sport. The Leafs lineup is uh dreadful.

Here’s how the Senators will line up…

Tkachuk-Stützle-Giroux
Perron-Greig-Cousins
Highmore-Ostapchuk-Boucher
Reinhardt-Pilon-Hodgson

Sanderson-Hamonic
Roos-Jensen
Davies-Bernard Docker/Guenette

Anton Forsberg starts. Mads Søgaard dresses as the back up. Linus Ullmark is fine and I don’t wanna talk about it.

Puck drops at 7:08 PM at The Tire. TSN5 and TSN4 have the television coverage while Dean and Gord are on the call on TSN1200. Streams are an option but so is heading down to the rink and watching a real live hockey match.

The HEAD2HEAD table is tending to a family matter and is expected to rejoin the site in the coming days.
