This five game home stand has had its ups and downs.
The performance against the New York Rangers was probably one of Ottawa’s best of the season. But they came away with just one point. The game against the Red Wings wasn’t as good but the Sens did find a way to battle back from two down in the third period. Again though, just one point.
The Senators continue to find ways to bank points but this is a fan base starved for a regulation win. Something the Senators have done just five times this season which is tied for last place in that category, by the way. They still sit in second place in the Atlantic Division but there are plenty of teams closing in behind them.
Two points would certainly ease the tension surrounding this team the last little while and perhaps cheer up the comment section a little bit.
After a pretty horrendous start to their season and the firing of a Coach I thought they fired three years, the Columbus Blue Jackets have started to turn things around a little bit. Led by the always delightful John Tortorella, the Jackets have won three straight and six of their last ten. They still sit in last place in the Eastern Conference but they’ve started to close the gap on the teams in front of them. Their last game was a pretty impressive 3-1 win over a strong St. Louis Blues team.
It’s pretty safe to say this Columbus team is far better than their record would indicate.
Some line juggling at the morning skate this morning including Bobby Ryan up on the top line with Turris and Hoffman. Here’s how Dave Cameron has his team lined up this morning.

Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM.
