Maybe, in the end, the real Game Day post was the laughs we had along the way.
Down to the wire with this one folks so we’re going to need to stick to the basics.
It’s Wednesday night, there is a day-ruining snowstorm descending upon the Nation’s Capital and our dear Ottawa Senators are hosting the New York Islanders.
Aside from the whole “a worker on every line” approach that was promised from DJ Smith, tonight’s lineup also features 2020 first round pick Ridly Greig making his long-awaited NHL debut. He’s not exactly easing into things either as he’ll start the game on a line with Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux.
Tonight also represents a return to life without Josh Norris who will undergo season-ending surgery on his recently reinjured shoulder. A devastating turn of events for the Senators but more importantly for Josh Norris, who worked his tail off to get back in the lineup.
Here’s how the Senators are expected to line up for this one.
Tkachuk-Stützle-Joseph
DeBrincat-Greig-Giroux
Brassard-Pinto-Batherson
Kelly-Gambrell-Watson
Chabot-Holden
Sanderson-Hamonic
Brannstrom-Zaitsev
Cam Talbot gets the start in goal.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM but if you didn’t already know that, well I fear it may be too late for you. The game is on Sportsnet One, TSN1200 and on various streaming sites across the information super-highway.
Maybe the real HEAD2HEAD table is ALSO the laughs we had along the way.
