High-flying. Jets. Still got it, folks.
The Ottawa Senators host the Winnipeg Jets in Kanata, Ontario on Wednesday night.
We all wanted meaningful hockey this year. But um it would be nice to win some of them important hockey games.
See, the Sens have now dropped four straight and in the process, have fallen right out of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. When this slide started before the Four Nations break, Ottawa was knocking on the door of a top three spot in the Atlantic Division. As of this morning, they are two points back of the second Wild Card position and the two teams below them in the standings now have the same number of points.
Wakey, wakey fellas.
The good news is it sounds like help is on the way. Just uh…not yet.
Brady Tkachuk, Josh Norris and Shane Pinto were all on the ice for practice yesterday but all three are gonna miss the game tonight. Angus Crookshank and Jan Jenik have both been recalled and both will suit up tonight.
No Game Day skate either so the lineup is a mystery. Fun!
Linus Ullmark is the expected starter for the good guys.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM in Ottawa. The game is available on Sportsnet and the radio at TSN1200. The HEAD2HEAD table is day-to-day with a horrible curse of some kind.
