Finding ways to win.
It has become a calling card of this Ottawa Senators team. Not in the sense that they are regularly outplayed and stealing games though. But rather, they just keep turning in solid efforts at a time when it would be pretty easy to just roll over.
That game against the Washington Capitals may have actually been their most impressive win to date. In what was a brutal back to back, with key players out of the lineup and against a really good hockey team, they found a way. And not through luck or a goalie standing on his head either- they just flat out wanted it more than the Caps.
The Senators will look for more of the same when they host the St. Louis Blues down at the CTC.
Injuries have been a huge part of Ottawa’s season and this time it’s Thomas Chabot that joins the list of walking wounded. He was on the wrong end of a big hit by Tom Wilson on Sunday night and will miss tonight’s game at least and perhaps more than that.
With Chabot out, Victor Mete draws in. One change up front as Dylan Gambrell draws in for Mark Kastelic. Parker Kelly gets another look up front. Here’s how DJ Smith had his team lined up at the morning skate.

Puck drop is scheduled for just a shade after the 7:00 PM hour. Approximately 480 seconds for those who like to keep good time. The game is available on TSN5, on the radio at TSN1200 and on the internet at TheSensAreInSession.org.
And with that, you have reached the end of today’s Game Day post. We hope you have enjoyed your stay. As a token of my appreciation, please accept this HEAD2HEAD table.
Lastly, one of our own had a message that was shared in the comment section just before the lights went out and I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to read it. Over to you, Sens89.
