I have written many Game Day posts in my day but this one in particular is going to require every ounce of effort and professionalism and dedication that I can muster.
Allow me to explain…
It’s not so much that this season has been a disappointment although that’s part of it for sure. It’s not because tonight’s opponent makes me terribly nervous although again, that’s part of the issue. And it’s not because these mid-January games are always a bit of a slog.
See, I’m currently in the Dominican Republic and it’s 30 degrees and these rum punches (sp???) appear to be unlimited. Believe me, I checked.
The Ottawa Senators host the Colorado Avalanche in a game of ice hockey later tonight.
Here’s how the good guys are expected to line up for this one.
Tkachuk-Greig-Giroux
Tarasenko-Stützle- Batherson
Kubalik-Chartier- Joseph
Kelly-Kastelic-MacEwen
Chabot-Chychrun
Sanderson-Zub
Brannstrom-Hamonic
Mads Sogaard makes his season debut in the Ottawa net.
Puck drop is scheduled for 8:08 PM here in the Dominican. The game is available on TSN5, TSN1200 and I hope on the TV at Desires, which is a delightfully strange “discotech” here on the resort.
Wondering how these teams match up and tired of me yammering on about my vacation? Let the HEAD2HEAD table shut me up.
