Game Day- Senators, Flames Battle Again in Calgary

Not sure if you are aware but Brady Tkachuk’s brother Matthew plays for the Calgary Flames. And tonight, Brady Tkachuk will play a hockey game against his brother, Matthew Tkachuk.

Also, Keith Tkachuk is their Dad.

The Senators and Flames meet for the fifth time in eleven days at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.

Anybody that suggests they have any idea what’s going to happen in tonight’s game is a liar. The first four games in this mini-series have been about as unpredictable as it gets.

Sens win by five.
Flames win by three.
Sens win by four.
Flames win by four.

Just when it looks like one team has the upper-hand, the other bounces back. Hopefully that trend continues because on Thursday night, the Senators looked pretty bad. Goaltending let them down obviously but they were a mess from top to bottom.

Braydon Coburn struggled on Thursday night but he’s back in the press box tonight. Seems like Mike Reilly is healthy and ready to play. No changes expected in the forward group.

No game day skate today but DJ Smith is expected to meet with the media at 1:30 PM. We’ll confirm the lineup then.

Here’s how he had ’em lined up at yesterday’s practice.

Tkachuk-Tierney -C. Brown
Paul-White-Dadonov
Stützle-Norris-Batherson
Dzingel-Anisimov-Watson

Chabot-Zaitsev
Reilly-Zub
Brannstrom-Gudbranson

Puck drop is scheduled for an entirely unreasonable 9:30 PM. It’s Sunday, for crying out loud! The game is available on TSN5, RDS2 and on the dial at TSN1200. If shady internet streams are your thing, those are available too.

Sports Betting Dime has the odds here. The Flames have struggled against the Senators at times this season but Calgary has performed well at home, winning 10 of the last 13 games. Not surprisingly Calgary is a slight favorite in a game that could go either way.
