The last time the Ottawa Senators played the Vancouver Canucks the vibes were a little bit different around these parts.
It was less than a month ago, if you can believe it. As the final horn sounded that night at the Canadian Tire Centre and the Canucks held on for a 4-3 win, the boos rained down from the Sens faithful. It was a fifth straight loss for the Senators and the ol’ angst levels were dialed all the way up to their maximum levels.
Here we go again.
Another season-ruining November.
Trade everyone, they cried.
This team is done.
Not so fast.
Just 28 days later, the Ottawa Senators have this thing back on track. Five straight wins and an impressive 7-2-1 in their last ten. Entering Saturday’s action, they find themselves in the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and sit just two points back of both the Bruins and Lightning.
The Senators look to keep things rolling in the right direction when they visit the Canucks in Vancouver.
Some shuffling in the forward combinations ahead of this one.

Puck drop is scheduled for 10:00 PM in Vancouver. That might seem a little late but it’s Saturday night damn it and you’re still a youthful and vibrant individual and you refuse to held back by the shackles of time. But maybe a quick pregame snooze just in case. The game is on Sportsnet, CBC, CityTV and on the radio at TSN1200. Bort is on streamin’ duty.
The HEAD2HEAD table is champing/chomping at the bit, whatever the hell that means, waiting for a chance to get back out there. But…not yet.
Go. Sens. Go.
