Good teams find ways to win. You hear it all the time.
The Ottawa Senators obviously didn’t play a perfect game last night. And they also happened to be a playing a team desperate to win on home ice. It was the kind of game where previous versions of this team may have panicked or may have let it slip away late. But not this time.
They found a way.
And that’s sort of the way things have gone for the Senators recently. Six straight wins for the first time since 2017. A three-point lead (and two games in hand) on the Penguins for the second Wild Card spot and just two points back of the Bruins (again, with two games in hand) for a top three spot in the Atlantic Division.
They’ll look to keep things rolling into the holiday break when they visit Connor McDavid and the rest of the Edmonton Oilers.
Could be one change to the lineup as Michael Amadio left the game last night with an injury. No word on his status yet but we’ll find out closer to puck drop.
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Greig-Norris-Batherson
Cousins-Pinto-Amadio
Gregor-Ostapchuk-Gaudette
Sanderson-Hamonic
Chabot-Jensen
Kleven-Bernard Docker
Linus Ullmark is expected to start.
Puck drops at a far more reasonable 8:08 PM tonight in Edmonton. The game is available on TSN5, Sportsnet West on the radio at TSN1200. Bort is serving up both holiday cheer and illegal internet streams.
The HEAD2HEAD table is keeping a positive attitude and is the ultimate team player and is just waiting for a chance to get back in the lineup. But…not yet.
Go. Sens. Go.
