Game Day – Senators Begin Preseason in Toronto

We’re still a few weeks away from the real thing but when you’ve waited this long, a preseason game against a rival feels like the BIGG…ok, no. It’s not that. But it sure is nice to have our Sens back.

The Ottawa Senators begin their seven-game preseason when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night.

Sens! Tonight!

Not exactly the A-lineup to open the preseason but that’s what you’d expect when you open the preseason on the road. What the team lacks in star power it makes up for with uh intrigue as it’s full of guys on the bubble heading into this year’s Training Camp.

Up front, this is a great chance for Angus Crookshank to show that he deserves a long look over the next couple weeks. Meanwhile guys like Halliday, Kulemin, Gaudette and MacEwen all need big preseasons to find their way into the Opening Night lineup.

On defence, we get a first look at first round pick Carter Yakemchuk, paired with Thomas Chabot. Tyler Kleven will also get a ton of ice time tonight which will almost certainly be bad news for some poor unsuspecting Maple Leaf.

Here’s how Travis Green will line ’em up.

Crookshank-Pinto-Batherson
Gregor-Halliday-Amadio
Kulemin-Gaudette-MacEwen
Reinhardt-Jenik-Bourgault
Pettersson

Chabot-Yakemchuk
Kleven-Addison
Sebrango-Guenette
Mantinpalo

Mads Sogaard starts with Dustin Tokarski dressing as the back up.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM in the Big Stink. The game is available on Sportsnet, which means we can expect the coverage to begin with a detailed analysis of the Leafs parade route for next summer. TSN1200 should have the radio call and as is tradition, Bort is on the illegal internet streams.

The HEAD2HEAD table is being held out of the preseason for precautionary reasons.
