Meaningful hockey games. That’s all we asked for really.
And thanks to another easy win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, the Ottawa Senators now have a chance to play in games that matter. It’s not Game 7 by any stretch of the imagination but for a team that has been scratching and clawing their back into playoff contention, it’s as big as it gets.
Tonight and tomorrow night. Head to head against the Detroit Red Wings and a unique chance to reel in one of the teams they’re chasing. Good ol’ fashion four point games. And after playing out the string for like half a decade, that’s certainly meaningful hockey.
The Ottawa Senators host the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.
DJ Smith has just wrapped up his media availability and said the plan is to roll out the same lineup as Saturday at the Bell Centre.
Somethin’ like this…
Tkachuk-Stützle-Giroux
DeBrincat-Pinto-Batherson
Joseph-Gambrell-Gauthier
Brassard-Kastelic-Watson
Chabot-Zub
Sanderson-Hamonic
Brannstrom-Holden
No word on a starting goalie just yet.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM. The game is available on TSN5, RDS2, on the radio at TSN1200 or OR live and in person at the Canadian Tire Centre. Seriously, what else do you have going on tonight? Just find some damn pants and head to the damn rink and support your damn hockey team.
Oh and here’s your damn HEAD2HEAD table.
