There’s an ol’ saying in sports and it goes like this…”To be the best, you gotta beat the best”.
So while the league-leading Washington Capitals may think they’re the team to beat in the NHL, they really haven’t proved a damn thing until they can beat Leevi Meriläinen .
The Ottawa Senators return home to host the Washington Capitals on Thursday night in scenic Kanata, Ontario.
Travis Green just wrapped up the Game Day skate and there will be a couple changes. Donovan Sebrango has been recalled from Belleville and will make his NHL debut tonight in place of Thomas Chabot. Michael Amadio returns from a concussion, taking the place of Zack MacEwen. Jake Sanderson and Nick Jensen missed the skate but will play.
Line combos look something like this…
Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
Giroux-Stützle-Gaudette
Cousins-Pinto-Greig
Highmore-Amadio-Ostapchuk
Sanderson-Zub
Sebrango-Jensen
Kleven-Matinpalo
Meriläinen is expected to get the start for the good guys.
Puck drops at 7:08 PM at Le Tire. The game is available on TSN5, RDS2, TSN1200 and on streaming sites for those that prefer their sports stolen. Heading down to the rink is an option too. See ya there!
This is going to be another table-free endevour. Trust me – there is a method to the madness. Okay, maybe it’s just madness.
