Game Day- Road Trip Continues in Florida

It wasn’t exactly the perfect start to their four game road trip.

Playing in a tough back to back situation, the Senators kept with the Rangers most of the night but ran out of gas in the third period, eventually falling 4-1 at Madison Square Garden.  The Senators will look to get back on track as they make a quick trip to the state of Florida to take on two Atlantic Division rivals in the Panthers and the Lightning.

First up- Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers.

Much like they did for the majority of last season, this Panthers team has been hanging around in the Eastern Conference playoff race.  Their 13-10-4 record has them sitting just outside the second wild card spot and only three points back of Ottawa in the Eastern Conference.  They’ve been playing pretty well of late too, going 6-3-1 over their last ten games.  Before their Sunday night loss in New Jersey, this Florida team had won five straight, including four in a row on the road.

Their offence continues to be led by the incredible Jaromir Jagr, who has 20 points through 25 games this season. He’s 43 years old by the way.

Two changes to the Ottawa line up as Shane Prince is a scratch up front (weird) and Patrick Wiercioch draws in on defence. And then with Prince out, there is apparently a chance Mark Borowiecki plays as a forward. I am confused.  Here’s how the Senators are expected to line up for this one.

Hoffman-Turris-Ryan
Smith-Zibanejad-Stone
Lazar-Pageau-Chiasson
Borowiecki-Dziurzynski-Neil

Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Ceci
Wiercioch-Wideman

Craig Anderson makes another start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM.
