One. More. Meaningless. Hockey. Game.
That’s all that stands between us and the start of the NHL regular season. In just five days, we’ll be gearing up for the home opener, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Tkachuk v. Tkachuk. A packed house on a Thursday night.
We’re almost there. Just one preseason game left to navigate.
The Ottawa Senators host the Montreal Toilet Seats on Saturday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Even though tonight’s game lacks any real meaning, there’s still a wee bit of intrigue heading into the preseason finale.
These teams do not care for each other one little bit and even without two points on the line, it’s pretty clear that their mutual hatred will be on full display. So much so that Martin St. Louis asked his GM to reach out to Steve Staios to uh, well I don’t know why. Presumably just to mutter “Careful” and hope for the best.
The lineup is going to be interesting and unfortunately, will remain a mystery until 4:30 PM this afternoon when Travis Green meets with the media.
Personally, I’d roll with the exact same group as last night in Detroit but I do think there’s a chance the Head Coach would prefer one last tune-up for the full group.
We shall see.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM at the CeeTeeCee. The game is available on TSN5, TSN1200, the world wide web and live and in person in scenic Kanata, Ontario.
