With all due respect to the good people of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, I could do without another preseason hockey game.
And yet here we are. The Ottawa Senators mercifully wrap up their preseason schedule with a fourth straight game against the lowly Montreal Canadiens.
In an ideal world, the Senators would have played more tuneup games against functioning NHL franchises but the Montreal Canadiens will have to do. The Senators prevailed in the first three games of this bizarre four game series, including a 4-3 win in Newfoundland on Thursday night.
Much like the other night, the Senators will be doing their best to scrape together a lineup as they battle a strange mix of minor injuries and sickness late in the preseason.
Both Mathieu Joseph and Tyler Motte missed practice yesterday with what the Coach called general soreness. In a related move, the team announced that they have recalled Jake Lucchini from Belleville. We’ll see who’s actually available when the puck drops later this evening.
From today’s morning skate

Magnus Hellberg is expected to start for the Senators tonight and is scheduled to play the full game. Antoine Bibeau dresses as the back up.
Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 PM. Looks like another TVA Sports only kind of night on the broadcast front but keep an eye on the comment section for streams closer to game time.
