Seriously, if someone else could start writing the titles for these things it would save me a lot of time, anguish and ultimately, embarrassment.
Twenty-four hours after a particularly dreadful performance against the Boston Bruins, the Senators are right back at it. This time, they travel to Washington to take on Alex Ovechkin and the rest of the Washington Capitals.
As the Senators found out the hard way, preparing for a 12:30 PM start can be a little dicey. DJ Smith’s team really didn’t find their legs until the second period and by then, it was too late. Fatigue is pretty clearly becoming an issue for the Senators right now so it will be interesting to see what they have left in the tank for an especially unpleasant back to back.
The Capitals have been off since Thursday and will be waiting at home for a Senators team that looked pretty exhausted in yesterday’s third period. Oh and they’ve now gone a good seven periods without a goal too.
DJ Smith had the blender out yesterday so we’ll have to wait until pre-game line rushes to find out how they start against the Caps.

Anton Forsberg is the likely starter.
