After grinding out a win on home ice against the New Jersey Devils, the Senators are right back at it on Sunday night.
They’ll close out another weekend back to back with a trip to Brooklyn to take on John Tavares and the New York Islanders.
After tonight, the Senators have just four more games the rest of December. In Chicago, home to Anaheim, in New York and then back home to take on the Detroit Red Wings.
The Islanders have certainly been one of the most disappointing teams in the league through the first half of the season.
They made the playoffs and won a round last year and really seemed like they had things pointed in the right direction. The bottom has sort of fallen out on them this year.
The Isles comes into this one with a 11-13-6 record which has them sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference and 27th overall. They’re 16th in goals for and 26th in goals against. Their power play is ranked 29th with a 13.4% success rater and their PK isn’t much better, sitting 23rd overall.
Not much has been going right for this Islanders team through the first 30 games of the season.
Boucher will roll with the same forward combinations and defence pairings as last night against the Devils. No morning skate today but here’s how the Senators are expected to line up for this one.
