Game Day- Condon Starts in Buffalo

Safe to say the team’s Coaching Staff was not impressed with last night’s effort in Nashville.

Guy Boucher went so far as to call it their worst performance of the season.

They’ll be looking for a bounce-back performance when they play the tail-end of a back to back tonight against the Buffalo Sabres.

It goes without saying at this point but Ottawa is desperate for some goals. They’ve been successful in bringing down their goals-against numbers but the offence has dried up completely.  Just five goals in their last four games is nowhere near good enough. They need a much better effort from the top end of their line up.

Goals certainly won’t come easy against Robin Lehner and the Buffalo Sabres. As the Sens found out on Saturday night, Lehner can be pretty tough to beat when he gets in an early zone.  Ottawa needs to get traffic and pucks to the net to make life difficult for Lehner.

One change to the Ottawa line up as it sounds like Chris Neil is a little banged up and won’t be able to play. Mike Blunden has been called up from Binghamton to fill his spot on the fourth line. Boucher spoke to the media this morning and it sounds like he’ll shuffle his forward lines a little bit again.

No morning skate today but a best guess at Ottawa’s line up

Ryan-Brassard-Stone
Dzingel-Turris-Smith
Hoffman-Pageau-Pyatt
Puempel-Kelly-Blunden

Methot-Karlsson
Phaneuf-Ceci
Claesson-Borowiecki

Mike Condon gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM.
