Twelve games. That’s all that separates the Ottawa Senators from the conclusion of the regular season. And it ends with a stop in Hollywood to take on the Los Angeles Kings. Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.
They did their part in Anaheim last night. A regulation loss was a must and it might be even more important tonight. With the Senators in a dead-heat with the Los Angeles Kings, the two points on the line are the most important of the season. There’s no other way to put it…this is THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR. Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys.
It’s not fun cheering against the Senators. Actually, it’s awful. But really, we have no choice. We do it because we care and because we want what’s best for the organization long-term. Love means never having to say you’re sorry.
After the Senators wrap up this California swing, they’ll play two more games on this road trip including stops in Chicago and St. Louis. Then back home to host Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. There’s no place like home.
As focused as we’ve all been on this tank, it’s sort of terrifying when you look at the actual percentages. Just about everything has gone right for the Senators this season and still, the absolute best case scenario is a 25% chance at first overall. That’s it. That’s the truth. You can’t handle the truth.
All that losing and there is a damn good chance they don’t get a top three pick. Actually, now that I think about it the lottery system is kind of a joke. I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore.
But imagine if they won it?! Imagine Bill Daly staring into the camera and turning over that Sens logo. Imagine Pierre Dorion jumping out of his seat-I’m the king of the world!
Okay I’m good now. Tonight, the Senators face the hottest team in the league in the Los Angeles Kings. Wait a minute, wait a minute. You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!
The Kings have won six straight for some reason and have gone from a lock for 30th place to a situation where they can catch Ottawa and San Jose. The stuff that dreams are made of.
The line up will remain a mystery until later this evening when DJ Smith meets with the media. Although lineups are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.
Actually, you’ll probably get this.
Tkachuk-White-Ryan
Balcers-Tierney-Brown
Duclair-Paul-Hawryluk
Boedker-Peca-Sabourin
Chabot-Hainsey
Reilly-Zaitsev
Wolanin-Englund
Craig Anderson is the likely starter for the Senators. Jonathan Quick is expected to start for the Kings. Here’s Johnny!
Puck drop is scheduled for just after 10:30 PM. The game is available on TSN and RDS. I’m sorry for this. I really am. You don’t understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I could’ve been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am.
Anyway, show…me….the…..HEAD2HEAD table!
