Game Day- BSens Visit Marlies in Toronto

Why the hell not, eh?

As the NHL season grinds through the second half, it’s becoming increasingly clear that this may not be the year the Senators win the Cup.

But that doesn’t mean the other Senators can’t win a different Cup.

The Belleville Senators are heating up folks. They’ve reeled off three straight wins including wins over the Laval Rocket (yes, it’s singular. Just one Laval Rocket) on Friday and Saturday night.

And now they look to keep it rolling against the Toronto Marlies on Sunday afternoon. A huge game with AHL playoff implications.

Belleville’s recent surge has been led by two key pieces in the future of the Ottawa Senators.

Drake Batherson and Logan Brown have been ripping it up in the American Hockey League the last little while including a hat trick from the Drake last night.

Those two have shown some impressive chemistry the last few weeks. Batherson has points in eight straight games including  7 goals and 18 points over that stretch. Meanwhile Logan Brown has 6 goals and 19 points in his last 13 games.

Not bad at all.

This afternoon’s opposition is the Toronto Marlies. You really don’t need to know much about them other than the fact that they are a hockey team that plays in Toronto and therefore we hate them with the burning fire of ten thousands suns.

No word on a line up from Troy Mann just yet but here’s how they lined up yesterday against the Rocket from Laval.

Filip Gustavsson started last night so it seems likely they go with Marcus Hogberg today. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 4:00 PM.

And now, the real kicker! This game is being broadcast on TSN2.

Making it THE BIGGEST BELLEVILLE GAME OF THE YEAR!
