Are we really only three games into this series?
With the twists and turns embedded in each of the three games in this first round series between the Ottawa Senators and the Boston Bruins, it feels like these two teams have been going head to head for weeks.
There have been dramatic swings in momentum, with neither team able to consistently control the play for a full sixty minutes. Every game has been decided by just one goal and the last two needed extra time.
Doesn’t get much closer than that. Safe to assume we’ll see more of the same as these two teams square off in Game 4 at the TD Garden in Boston.
The Senators found a way in Game 3 but they’ll need a better sixty minute effort if they want to steal another game in Boston. Almost goes without saying at this point but the Senators should be prepared to see the Bruins best game of the series tonight.
The story for the Bruins continues to be a banged up blueline. Sounds like there’s a chance they could get Colin Miller back for this game but the news seems less positive for Torey Krug, Brandon Carlo and Adam McQuaid. We’ll see if any of those four are healthy enough to return tonight.
The Senators are on the ice for their game day skate at 11:30 AM. Not expecting significant changes to the Ottawa line up but Guy Boucher did suggest there’s a chance Mark Borowiecki could be available for this one. If he’s ready to play then Ben Harpur comes out.
Everything else is expected to be the same as Game 3 but we’ll confirm the line up early this afternoon. And as we’ve been reminded often in these playoffs, don’t be surprised if these forward lines are juggled before or during the game.
