Okay, The System.
We’re going to need your help with this one.
The Ottawa Senators, or something resembling the Senators anyway, close out their five game homestand tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Except they’ll have to do it without a bunch of forwards including Kyle Turris, Bobby Ryan, Zack Smith and Colin White. Oh and Logan Brown and Clarke MacArthur too.
The team that takes the ice for the Sens tonight will be almost unrecognizable and there will be a distinct preseason feel to the Ottawa line combinations. As many as four AHL call ups could be in there including Chris DiDomenico (59), Max McCormick (89), Jack Rodewald (53) and Filip Chlapik (78).
And they’ll have their hands full against a Philadelphia team that is off to a bit of an up and down start but that still has plenty of talented players, both young and old, in their line up.
While a lot of the talk today will be about the call ups, if the Senators are going to have a chance in this one, they need a better effort from their top players. Erik Karlsson, Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone and Derick Brassard are all capable of keeping Ottawa in this thing and they all need to be a whole lot better than they were on Tuesday against the Kings.

No morning skate today so the line up will remain a bit of a mystery until just after 11:00 AM.
With Rodewald and Chlapik called up yesterday, the Senators have 12 forwards available. They also have seven healthy defenceman though at last check so an 11/7 formation is an option.
A best guess at the line up for now.
