Game Day- Anderson Returns vs. Blues

If I didn’t see it with my own two eyes, well I don’t know if I would have believed it.

The Ottawa Senators, of the National Hockey League, walked right into Raleigh, North Carolina and won a hockey game. When the sixty minutes of stoppage time had come to an end, the Senators had more goals than the Hurricanes. It happened.

A miracle? Maybe.

There was a time about 24 hours ago when I thought the playoffs were out of reach this year but now that I’ve seen the Senators win a game in Carolina, I believe anything is possible.

The Senators will look to keep hitting the right notes as they play the Blues in St. Louis.

Heading into the 2018/2019 season, some experts had St. Louis pegged as a playoff team. Hell, some even had them in contention for a Stanley Cup. Safe to assume those experts are now pursuing new career opportunities because this Blues team is mostly garbage. Okay they’ve been a little less junk lately but they still sit just two points clear of the Senators in the overall standings.

As an aside, if you can name 10 players on the Blues without looking, I’ll give you a FREE one year membership to SensChirp. Good luck!

Guy Boucher will make a few changes to their line up ahead of this one. First off, Mark Borowiecki is out. He left last night’s game with an injury and won’t be available. Max Lajoie also sits as a healthy scratch while Ben Harpur draws in with the expectation that he continue to be tall.

Up front, Nick Paul draws in on the fourth line giving the Senators an incredible number of forwards…12.

No Game Day skate but here’s a best guess at the Ottawa line up.

Tkachuk-Tierney-Stone
Dzingel-Duchene-Ryan
Smith-Pageau-Paajarvi
Balcers-Paul-Boedker

Chabot-DeMelo
Harpur-Ceci
Wolanin-Jaros

Craig Anderson is healthy and ready to return. He’ll make his first start since way back on December 21st. Puck drops just after 7:00 PM.

Only the finest television network for a game of this magnitude- City TV. But not until Frasier wraps up. You can also catch the game on TSN1200 or you can stream it, assuming the polar vortex doesn’t freeze up internet across the city.
