A day after placing him on waivers, the Ottawa Senators have sent forward Stephane Da Costa to Binghamton of the American Hockey League.
Da Costa may not have had much of a chance to succeed up here but he was strong in training camp and earned himself a trip to California and an NHL paycheque. His skill set is more in line with a top six forward and there just wasn’t room for him up there right now.
He’ll be an important addition to the line up in Binghamton though and should add to the offence down there. Bryan Murray addressed rumours of the next call up yesterday and said that there was no decision imminent on that front and that he wasn’t in any rush to do something.
Mika Zibanejad seems like the logical choice but both Derek Grant, Mike Hoffman and Jim O’Brien could also be in the mix.
